To better prepare our students to meet tomorrow’s challenges and seize opportunities, the French Counseling office proudly announces the launch of the Rochambeau Start-Up Week, from June 13 to 17.
The Concept
During Start-Up Week, our 10th grade (Seconde) students will be working in teams to develop new ideas and to create their own start-up companies. Each morning the teams will participate in conferences led by industry professionals. They will receive advice and instruction on industry best practices. Each afternoon, the teams will discuss how to apply that information to further develop their start-up projects.
At the conclusion of Rochambeau Start-Up Week, the teams will present their start-up ideas to a jury of business professionals. The top three teams will earn prizes. The student work presented will include team’s financial plans, marketing materials, and sales forecasts as part of a comprehensive business plan.
Rochambeau parents and friends are invited to support this event
- Be part of the audience: We welcome guests to join in our creative learning.
- Mentor our students: If you can volunteer a few hours of your time, you can share your start-up experience with our student teams so they may ask questions and seek your advice.
- Prize Sponsorship for teams: You or your business can sponsor our team prizes with a (tax-deductible) donation of $600 for first prize team, $300 for second prize team and/or $150 for the third prize team.
- Meal Sponsors: You can help fuel our young entrepreneurs by sponsoring a breakfast ($150) or lunch ($500) on one or more days.
